About Me
As a kid, I spent most of my time outside exploring – that was easy when you grow up in a place like Steamboat Springs, CO. Nestled in the Yampa Valley, surrounded by mountains, forests, and rivers, I found myself captivated by the vibrant colors of aspen leaves, the intricate and unique lattices of snowflakes, and the shimmering scales of wild rainbow trout. I learned pretty early on I was innately drawn to the simplicity, symmetry, and structure found in the natural world. The predictability and balance that came with the seasons in Steamboat brought comfort and peace.
I knew then that I wanted to emulate those feelings in my work—and design was the perfect outlet.
Nature can be cruel, unforgiving, and selective. It can also be beautiful and unique in its simplicity. Thus, the groundwork for my “less-is-more” approach to design was born. I believe great design is clear, uncluttered, and intuitive. I hope to show you that when done right, an interface should feel as natural as the world around us.
